Day of Joy
When Starlight Children's Foundation and the Joy in Childhood Foundation partnered to fund an accessible kitchen renovation at La Rabida Children's Hospital, I organized a check presentation for stakeholders at the hospital. I provided a script for the program, arranged the attendance of patient families, supported media relations, coordinated an on-site video shoot, led tours, assisted with logistics and coordinated social media coverage among participating organizations.
Historic bill signing
Governor Pat Quinn visited Sinai Community Institute to sign a bill expanding health and wellness services in communities throughout Illinois in July 2014. I served on the team that coordinated this high-profile event with the Office of the Governor, assisting with logistics, media relations, social media and photography.
Back to School Luau
What better way to celebrate the start of a school year than with a luau-themed dance party? I served on the team that organized a dance for dozens of La Rabida patients and their family members, the first event of its kind for the organization. I designed the invitation, supported media relations, coordinated an on-site video shoot and photographed the event.
High-profile visitors and television shoots
With a great level of detail, I have coordinated special visits from Mayor Rahm Emanuel and U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, professional athletes and various dignitaries at multiple organizations. I have also coordinated the filming of network TV shows on hospital grounds without disrupting patient care.
On the Table
Amid news of exciting developments in the spring of 2017, including the announcement of the Barack Obama Presidential Center's home in Jackson Park, La Rabida hosted a breakfast for South Side leaders and community members as part of The Chicago Community Trust’s On The Table initiative. I served on the team that planned, executed and promoted this event.
Annual meeting
I identified and coached two former La Rabida patient speakers and prepared the remarks that they delivered to an audience that included the Board of Trustees and members of the C suite before sharing their powerful stories in a post-event wrap-up on social media.
NICU reunion
Sinai Children's Hospital hosted its first Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) reunion in 10 years in the fall of 2014. I helped to coordinate this day-long event with patient families and clinical caregivers, who were overjoyed to reunite with over 200 guests.
Cooking with Cops
In partnership with Bella Cuisine Kids, I have arranged healthy cooking classes for pediatric patients of Sinai and La Rabida to promote nutrition and raise awareness of childhood obesity. The experience pairs kids with police officers to prepare a healthy meal, also promoting positive community relationships.
